Parental Involvement

Therapy with children requires consent from both parents. Active parental engagement is an essential part of the process. This includes attending sessions with your child and participating in collaborative discussions on how best to support their needs. Megan’s approach places a strong emphasis on motivated and respectful family involvement, with the goal of improving communication and strengthening relationships.

To provide the most appropriate care, we ask that families share all relevant information about their current circumstances when making initial contact.

Scope of Practice

Megan supports families where there is mutual readiness to engage in therapy and a shared commitment to growth. However, she is not able to provide intensive support for high-needs situations, including high-conflict family dynamics or cases involving significant risk. These situations typically require more comprehensive or multi-disciplinary intervention.

Megan does not provide court-related services, including court reports or therapeutic work during ongoing family court proceedings or separations. If you are parenting in a separated family situation, we encourage you to read our Working with Separated Parents Policy to ensure our services are a good fit. If you’re unsure, please feel free to reach out to discuss your circumstances.

For support with family disputes or mediation, we recommend contacting Relationships Australia or Interrelate.
