Child Psychology

megan-henderson-psychology-icon

Megan is passionate about helping children embrace their strengths, learn to be their own best friend and to dream big about their futures.

As children’s response to therapy is largely influenced by parent willingness to be actively involved in the treatment process, Megan asks that both parents make availability to attend an initial appointment. Parents can arrange separate appointments if needed.

The initial parent appointment provides the opportunity to discuss concerns and the needs of your child and family. Megan will offer honest feedback about a treatment plan and practical strategies for parents before commencing treatment with your child.

Sessions with children offer age-appropriate information designed to empower kids to understand the impact of mindset on emotions and behaviour. Kids are offered evidence-based skills to bolster their sense of confidence to cope with life’s challenges. Parents are encouraged to actively attend appointments to learn ways to support their child and how to reinforce therapy tools at home.

Megan encourages families to work together to solve problems and reminds parents of the power of love, connection and making lasting memories together.

If your family is experiencing high levels of conflict or has complex needs, Megan will discuss alternative options for support. Please contact Megan to discuss your needs further.
