Child Psychology

Megan is passionate about helping children embrace their strengths, learn to be their own best friend and to dream big about their futures.
Megan Henderson Psychology offers compassionate and targeted support for children facing issues such as worries and anxiety, behavioural difficulties, sleep and toileting challenges, friendship concerns, learning difficulties, adjustment issues, social anxiety, and school refusal. Megan collaborates closely with both children and their families to create effective strategies and build resilience, empowering parents to equip their children with tools to manage everyday stress.
Consent from both parents is required before starting therapy with a child, and active parental engagement is expected throughout the therapy process. This includes attending sessions with their child and participating in discussions on how to best support the child’s needs. Megan’s approach emphasises the importance of collaborative and motivated parental involvement to effectively support the child’s well-being. Megan is dedicated to working with families where there is mutual motivation to improve communication and strengthen relationships, helping to support each other during challenging times. Megan is passionate about empowering parents with resources and tools to assist their children in navigating and coping with everyday challenges. To provide the best care for your children, please share all relevant information regarding your family situation when you first make contact with us.
Due to part-time availability, Megan is unable to provide intensive support for high-needs cases, including those involving high-conflict family situations or significant risk concerns, which often require more comprehensive, ongoing intervention. Megan Henderson Psychology does not accept referrals for court reports related to family court or during family separation and court proceedings.
If you are parenting a child in a separated family situation, please take a moment to read our Working with Separated Parents Policy to ensure our services align with your current needs. If you are unsure, please do not hesitate to contact Megan for further discussion. Families interested in mediation for family disputes are encouraged to contact Relationships Australia or Interrelate for those services.
