Our Services
Megan Henderson is an experienced Clinical Psychologist dedicated to fostering genuine happiness, well-being and emotional resilience across all ages.
Educational and Diagnostic Assessments
Megan provides educational assessments (sometimes called psychoeducational assessments) for children and young people, focusing on inclusive school practices and leveraging interest- and strength-based learning. These assessments, also known as learning or diagnostic assessments, are designed to:
- Understand cognitive, academic, and developmental needs.
- Identify learning strengths and weaknesses.
- Determine factors impacting learning.
- Provide tailored recommendations and strategies for support.
The assessments can also diagnose conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Specific Learning Disorders (e.g., Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia), Intellectual Disability, and Giftedness.
Our educational assessments offer valuable insights into a child’s cognitive abilities, academic skills, and emotional functioning. They help uncover underlying issues affecting educational progress and overall well-being, and provide actionable recommendations to support their educational development.
Therapy Interventions
Megan has worked in Private Practice for over a decade providing therapy for children, young people, adults and families. Megan’s optimism has been core to her therapy approach and she has been committed to providing evidence-based treatment from a range of therapy approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Positive Psychology.
These approaches encouraged people to consider how their thoughts are influencing how they are feeling and explores ways to help people shift their perspective to improve their mood. These treatment approaches also helped remind people to focus on what is important in life and act in line with these values despite having negative thoughts that might be getting in the way.
Focus and Availability
Megan Henderson offers therapy interventions specifically tailored for young children and their families. Megan is currently available for part-time work (2 days per week) and is committed to working with families who are motivated to actively engage in their child’s treatment.
Limitations
Due to her part-time availability, Megan is not able to accommodate clients with high needs requiring intensive support. This includes, but is not limited to, complex trauma, eating disorders, self-harm and suicidality, substance use and personality disorders. For such cases, we recommend seeking specialised care that aligns with your needs.
If you and your family are ready and motivated to work together, and your needs fit within Megan’s current scope of practice, we look forward to the opportunity to support you.
