Consultation Fees

Standard Fee: $250.00 per session. Payment options include EFTPOS at the time of your session or electronic transfer following an emailed invoice. Sessions may be cancelled if payment is not received.

Better Access Initiative:

• Fee: $250.00
• Medicare Rebate: $140.85
• Out-of-Pocket Cost: $109.15
• Rebate is processed by Medicare within 24-48 hours after session payment.

Access to sessions under the Medicare Better Access Initiative requires a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician. Up to 10 sessions per calendar year are eligible for a rebate of $140.85 each. For more details, visit the Australian Psychological Society’s Better Access Initiative page.

Private Referral: No referral is required to engage with our services privately. However, private consultations do not attract a Medicare rebate, and the full standard fee of $250.00 applies. If you have Private Health Cover, you may be eligible to claim rebates through your health fund. Please check with your health fund prior to your initial consultation. Note that claims cannot be made for both Private Health and Medicare for the same appointment.

Megan Henderson Psychology does not offer bulk billing.

Please note: The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended 46 to 60-minute consultation fee is $311.00.

Cancellation Policy

Megan values both her time and yours. Therefore, if you need to cancel an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee of $75 (including GST). No show appointments will be charged the full consultation fee.

Assessment Fees

Our assessments are billed at the standard consultation hourly rate of $250, and typically range from 8 to 10 hours to complete. The assessment duration is dependent on the type of assessment required.

At Megan Henderson Psychology, our assessment fees are as below;

Cognitive Assessment – $1,400.00

ADHD Assessment – $2,000.00 (includes a cognitive assessment)

ASD Assessment – $2500.00 (includes a cognitive assessment and screening for ADHD).

During the initial consultation, we will discuss and create a specific assessment plan that aligns with your child’s unique requirements and provide you with a clear price. If there are any changes in pricing based on the assessment measures used or the time required, these will be explained to you upfront before the assessment proceeds.

Payment in full is required after the initial consultation and before the assessment sessions are scheduled. This ensures that all arrangements are in place and allows us to proceed with the assessment without delay.

Megan Henderson Psychology also provides outreach assessment services for regional areas. Please note that travel costs will apply for these services.

Supervision Fees

Supervision fees are $200 (including GST) per hour.
