Medicare Better Access Initiative

If you are accessing sessions through the Medicare Better Access Initiative, the following applies:

• Consultation Fee: $270.00
• Medicare Rebate: $145.25
• Out-of-Pocket Cost: $124.25

To be eligible, you must have a valid referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from a GP or Psychiatrist. Eligible clients can receive up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year under this initiative.

Megan Henderson Psychology does not offer bulk billing.

Private Referrals

You may choose to access services privately, without a referral. In this case:

• Medicare rebates are not available.
• The full consultation fee of $270.00 applies.
• If you have private health insurance with extras cover, you may be able to claim a partial refund. Please check with your health fund directly for details.
• Important Information: You cannot claim both a Medicare rebates and a private health rebate for the same session.

Payment Options

Payment options include EFTPOS at the time of your session (1.1% surcharge applies) or electronic transfer. Future sessions may be cancelled if payment is not received.

Cancellation Policy

Megan values both her time and yours. Therefore, if you need to cancel an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee of $75 (including GST). No show appointments will be charged the full consultation fee.

Assessment Fees

At Megan Henderson Psychology, our assessments are billed at the standard consultation hourly rate of $250, and typically range from 8 to 12 hours to complete. The assessment duration is dependent on the type of assessment required.

During the initial consultation, we will discuss and create a specific assessment plan that aligns with your child’s unique requirements and provide you with a clear price. If there are any changes in pricing based on the assessment measures used or the time required, these will be explained to you upfront before the assessment proceeds.

Payment in full is required after the initial consultation and before the assessment sessions are scheduled. This ensures that all arrangements are in place and allows us to proceed with the assessment without delay.

Megan Henderson Psychology also provides outreach assessment services for regional areas. Please note that travel costs will apply for these services.

Supervision Fees

Supervision fees are $250 (including GST) per hour.
